Wolverhampton Wanderers lost 2-1 to Derby County on Saturday afternoon.

Wolverhampton Wanders continued their pre-season preparations on Saturday afternoon with a short trip to Derby County, and they came away with a 2-1 defeat.
Nuno’s men have been making headlines since their promotion to the Premier League, and they are busy gearing up for their first game back in the top flight against Everton.
Wolves pitted themselves against Frank Lampard’s Derby on Saturday, and actually fell behind as David Nugent put the Rams in front at Pride Park on the stroke of half time.
Wolves hit back after the break as Diogo Jota equalised, but Chelsea loanee Mason Mount handed Derby the win shortly after, scoring the winner for his new side.
Nuno won’t be too disheartened with a narrow defeat in pre-season, and the game also gave him a chance to see new signing Joao Moutinho in action for Wolves for the very first time.
Portuguese international Moutinho completed a stunning move to Molineux last week, as Wolves swooped to snap him up from Ligue 1 side Monaco thanks to the influence of Jorge Mendes once again.

Moutinho has been seen as a major coup for Wolves and a remarkable sign of ambition, and he started in midfield against Derby before being taken off at half time, gradually easing him into Premier League football.
During and after the game, Wolves fans took to Twitter to offer their reaction, with something of a split view; some felt that Moutinho was nervous, tidy but quiet, going about his job without too much of a fuss and didn’t set the world alight, but others saw real quality from the midfielder, especially on corners – and the general consensus is that the best is yet to come from Moutinho in a Wolves shirt.
