Manchester City ace Phil Foden has raved about Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson on BBC Sport after the England international star scored against Senegal at the 2022 Qatar World Cup on Sunday.
Liverpool midfielder Henderson opened the scoring for England in their 3-0 win against Senegal in the Round of 16.
The former Sunderland star found the back of the net in the 38th minute.
Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham provided the assist.
City and England international midfielder Foden has raved about Henderson, outlining how the Liverpool star is a leader on the pitch.
Manchester City’s Phil Foden on Liverpool and England’s Jordan Henderson
Foden said: “[Jordan Henderson is] massive. When someone is not doing something right on the pitch he is quick to tell you off.
“I don’t mind that, he is a leader and a captain and he’s definitely got that in his locker.”
“It’s a pleasure to play on the field with him, he ups your game and those around you. He’s a really important player for us.”

Leader
In our view, Jordan Henderson is a leader, both for Liverpool and for England.
Henderson is probably past his prime now, but the midfielder remains a very good and capable player who is still very good in the middle of the park.
We saw that against Senegal on Sunday evening.
Yes, Jude Bellingham ran the show for England from midfield, but Henderson went on about his business without any fuss.
The Liverpool star never shies away from getting the ball and is also there to close down and put in the hard work.
