Lee Dixon has claimed that Bukayo Saka has ‘gone to the next level’ for Arsenal, as he told Premier League Productions.

The former right-back stated that many thought that Saka would be a ‘star’ for Arsenal, but he has seemingly become better than some thought.

On New Year’s Day, Arsenal suffered a 2-1 defeat to Manchester City, with Saka getting on the scoresheet against the Premier League champions.

Not only is Saka a key player for Arsenal right now, but he is also becoming more important for England.

Dixon praised Saka as a ‘quick-thinker’ and someone who is also showcasing consistency in his game.

“I knew he was a really good kid,” said Dixon. “I knew he had a strong mentality.

“But I think where he has gone with his game and how he has been able to keep that consistency going of performances, it has just shown what a star he is.

“We all knew he was going to be a star. But he has gone to the next level – he’s a really quick-thinker. And a good finisher.”

Arsenal could stand loud and proud amongst many English sides and claim to have one of the best academies in the country.

Hale-End is producing some top-quality talent, with two players in Saka and Emile Smith-Rowe now England internationals.

Charlie Patino made his debut for his boyhood club against Sunderland in the EFL Cup and the highly-rated teenager topped the evening off by scoring.

It probably won’t be too long before Patino is also joining Saka and Smith Rowe as a first-team regular because the signs suggest that it can be done.
