Charlie Austin picked up a foot injury during Queens Park Rangers’ Premier League clash against Southampton on Saturday.
Queens Park Rangers forward Charlie Austin has taken to social networking site Twitter to give an update on his injury situation.
The 25-year-old picked up a foot injury during QPR’s Premier League clash against Southampton at Loftus Road earlier today.
Although Austin played the entire 90 minutes of the match which ended in a 1-0 defeat for Rangers, he left Loftus Road on crutches.
Austin has admitted that he does not know the extent of his injury at the moment, but hopes to have some information tomorrow.
Impact for QPR
It will be a big blow to QPR if Austin is ruled out for a long period of time.
The English striker has been one of the better players for Rangers so far this season, scoring 13 goals and creating as many chances in 22 Premier League appearances.
The London outfit are without a manager at the moment and are currently second from bottom in the league table with 19 points from 24 matches, a point behind 17th-placed Hull.
QPR are one of the top candidates to suffer relegation to the Championship at the end of the season, and if Austin is sidelined with injury, then their task to avoid the drop will become tougher.
