Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman admits he’d still be at Bristol City if all had gone to plan

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Luke Freeman currently leads Ian Holloway’s side’s assist charts.

Luke Freeman has admitted to Get West London that he wouldn’t be at Queens Park Rangers right now, if things had gone according to plan.

Freeman was offloaded by Bristol City last summer, with Lee Johnson’s side deciding against offering the attacking midfielder a new contract.

And the 25-year-old admits that although he is happy at QPR, things could have been a lot different, if Bristol City had offered him the chance to stay on.

“If I had it my way I’d have probably still been there, but that’s football,” Freeman said.

“Things move on, I’m very happy at QPR playing regular football and working hard, so that’s all I can do.”

Freeman has been crucial for QPR this season, so Ian Holloway will be very glad that the attacker did make the switch to Loftus Road.

Freeman has arguably been Rangers’ biggest threat this term, and he has netted three goals and claimed 10 assists in 28 Championship appearances.

Without Freeman, QPR would have lacked a great deal of creativity this season, as Holloway has relied on him to be his side’s main architect.

QPR are currently in 16th place in the Championship, while Freeman’s old side, Bristol City, are sat in fourth place and challenging for promotion.
