Southampton’s Austin spent two and a half years at Queens Park Rangers.

Charlie Austin’s hat-trick during Southampton’s 5-1 friendly win against Fulham on Thursday has caused Queens Park Rangers fans to call for his return on Twitter.
Austin has found competitive opportunities hard to come by under Southampton’s new boss Mauricio Pellegrino, with his only start this season coming in the Carabao Cup.

The 28-year-old scored an impressive nine goals in 22 appearances last season – his first full campaign at St Mary’s – having signed from QPR in January 2016.
And after Austin tweeted an action shot from yesterday’s game, several R’s fans were quick to share their feelings.
Austin spent two and a half seasons at Queens Park Rangers, with whom he was promoted in 2013-14, and scored 47 goals in 89 appearances.
The uncapped English striker is under contract until 2020, however, and is unlikely to come cheap should another club come in for him in January.

QPR have cut their budget significantly since their relegation two years ago, but are 8/1 favourites for his signature nonetheless with bookmakers Sky Bet.
