Queens Park Rangers are reportedly interested in appointing Gary Rowett.
Queens Park Rangers are searching for yet another new manager after parting ways with Steve McClaren on Monday.
The R’s have been in dismal form in 2019, taking just the one win and a total of six points, with Saturday’s home defeat to struggling Bolton Wanderers proving to be the final straw.
Less than a year after arriving at Loftus Road to replace Ian Holloway, McClaren has gone, and owner Tony Fernandes must now attempt to find a replacement.
A host of names have been tipped for the job, including Tim Sherwood and Mark Warburton, but the Birmingham Mail claim there is interest in landing Gary Rowett as the new boss.
Rowett, 45, has been out of work since losing his job at Stoke City in January, off the back of just nine wins in 29 games in charge of the Potters.
Before that, Rowett had impressed with Burton Albion and Birmingham City, whilst he took Derby County into the play-offs last season before losing to Fulham.
An experienced yet still young manager, Rowett could rebuild his managerial career at Loftus Road, but QPR fans seem a little split on the idea of him replacing McClaren.
Some think that Rowett is the best of the bunch right now, with other names far from exciting, but just hope that Rowett could bring some stability to the club.
Others are far from impressed, suggesting Rowett has been ‘bobbins’ since leaving Birmingham, and aren’t expecting attractive football if he arrives either.
