Queens Park Rangers beat Northampton 1-0 in the League Cup last night.

Queens Park Rangers fans have generally praised Steven Caulker, after he made his return to professional football last night.

Caulker spoke candidly with the Guardian about personal struggles which he had gone through recently.

The centre-back is now on the comeback trail, and made his first steps to getting back to his best yesterday.

Caulker played in defence for QPR, as they took on Northampton Town in the League Cup.

And the former England international has generally been credited for his performance.

If QPR can get Caulker back to his best then he will be one of the top defenders in the Championship.

The powerful centre-back has the ability to be a leading star at Loftus Road over the coming campaign.
