Sheffield United have pounced on the former Queens Park Rangers striker, who became a free agent on Friday.

Sheffield United have signed Conor Washington on a deal until the end of the season, after the striker’s Queens Park Rangers contract was terminated by mutual consent earlier on Friday.
Washington cost QPR £2.5 million from Peterborough United in January 2016, but failed to replace the goals of Charlie Austin, who was sold to Southampton shortly before his arrival at Loftus Road.
The former postman managed just 13 in 92 games at Championship level – a record which some QPR fans have struggled to look beyond.
Others however believe Washington could flourish at a club like Sheffield United, who have taken in plenty of discarded footballers in recent years only to polish them back up – a prime example being Leon Clarke, the former Loftus Road striker who was among the second tier’s top scorers last season.

This is what QPR fans are saying about the new Sheffield United recruit…
