Queens Park Rangers parted company with Steve McClaren yesterday.

Angel Rangel has suggested that he is gutted to see Steve McClaren leave Queens Park Rangers.

QPR parted company with McClaren yesterday, after a dire run of form which saw them slide down to 17th place in the Championship table.

But Rangel wishes things had ended up differently, as he felt McClaren was a very good manager.

Rangel has been out injured, so he has been unable to help stop QPR’s slump in form.

The Spaniard was a key player for QPR over the early part of the campaign, and his absence has been felt.

McClaren last game in charge at QPR saw them lose 2-1 to struggling Bolton Wanderers, in what was a damaging defeat.

Gary Rowett and Tim Sherwood have both been linked with the job at Loftus Road since the vacancy opened.
