Steve Bruce has praised Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele for his pass into Harry Kane against Newcastle United, on NUTV.
Newcastle put in a spirited display against Tottenham, but at one stage it looked as if they could fold.
Spurs came from 1-0 down to quickly take the lead in the first-half of the contest.
Kane’s first goal was very scrappy, with Newcastle making a major error.
But Bruce admits that there was little his side could do to stop Tottenham’s second, as Ndombele showed so much quality to create it.
“The individual error is something which you can’t legislate for, mistakes are unfortunate,” Bruce said.
“We have made a huge mistake but then there’s a little bit of quality from Tottenham, let’s be fair. The finish, the pass to him, the pass round the corner, unfortunately they’ve opened us up.
“After that you’re wanting a response and it could have been quiet easy to [go under] against a very good team but again we’ve got the response.”

The second goal was a rare moment of class from Spurs, in what was an extremely disappointing performance.
Tottenham just couldn’t assert any authority over struggling Newcastle, and were ultimately rather fortunate to claim a point.
Spurs were presented with a chance to break into the top four if they had won, but Mourinho’s side failed to take it, and there is now rising frustrations growing around the North London club yet again.
