Tottenham Hotspur’s first team enjoyed a superb 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night, coming from behind to claim a Champions League win thanks to goals from Harry Kane and Son Heung-min.
Spurs fans were delighted with the come-from-behind win, but Tottenham’s youngsters were also in action just hours before kick off at Signal Iduna Park.
Spurs Under-19’s were in UEFA Youth League action against Dortmund, and it was a similar outcome as Tottenham came away with a convincing 3-1 victory.
Samuel Shashoua of Tottenham Hotspur in action
TJ Eyoma and Marcus Edwards linked up to set up Samuel Shashoua for the opening goal, before Shashoua and Japhet Tanganga created a chance for Jaden Brown, who made no mistake for 2-0.
Emre Aydinel pulled one back for Dortmund, and after Edwards saw a penalty saved, Kazaiah Sterling brought a crazy first half to an end with Tottenham’s third.
3-1 is how it stayed as Tottenham’s young talents clinched an impressive win, sparking reactions on Twitter from Spurs fans who were impressed with what they saw.
Marcus Edwards of Tottenham Hotspur
Many hailed playmaker Shashoua, given that he scored the opener and helped set up Tottenham’s other two goals, with the words ‘special’ and ‘brilliant’ used to describe his display, with some claiming he is technically superior to Dele Alli and was the clear man of the match in this game.
Others praised teammate Edwards – a more highly-touted talent than Shashoua – branding him ‘quality’ and a ‘top player’ with fans more than impressed with another ‘great performance’ from one of Tottenham’s most promising teenagers.
