Ryan Giggs has told Stadium Astro that Liverpool summer signing Thiago Alcantara is a ‘quality player’.
Whilst Thiago arrived at Anfield as a European champion following his success with Bayern, the drive down the Anfield road has been a lot tougher than he would have anticipated.

Manchester United legend Giggs is ‘no doubt’ about the talents the technician has at his feet, as he stated that Liverpool will become ‘dangerous’ again when Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez return.
“He’s a quality player,” said Giggs. “There’s no doubt about that.
“But when we would see Van Dijk in the team, with that long raking passes out to Salah’s feet, out to Mane’s feet and then you are in the final third. One v One up against the fullback.
“Liverpool are just missing that, at the moment. But football is all about balance. When you have that balance right then they are going to be a dangerous team.
“Whether, it’s playing through the thirds or playing through the lines, which Thiago can do. Or you are going to back to front earlier, so it’s just a case of getting that balance right.”

When Thiago first put pen-to-paper at Liverpool, the fans were dreaming of the combinations Jurgen Klopp could pick from for his midfielders.
From Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago himself to the underrated figure in Gini Wijnaldum playing ahead of either the first two.
But that hasn’t happened since his arrival because both Fabinho and Henderson have been tasked to showcase their talents at the back.
