Leicester City have been linked with a £45 million deal for Francisco Trincao but Deco is convinced that a ‘quality player’ has a big future at Barcelona, in quotes reported by One Football.
If that haunting 8-2 shellacking at the hands of Bayern Munich proved anything, it’s that this crumbling, wearing Barca side are in dire need of some fresh blood.
And while Trincao alone will not solve the myriad of problems facing Ronald Koeman, signing one of the most exciting young forwards in European football should at least help to rejuvenate a club whose starting XI is starting to resemble football’s answer to Last of the Summer Wine.
“Trincao has it all to be a success at Barça,” says former Portugal international and two-time Champions League winner Deco. “He is a quality player with a great future ahead.
“He’s a classic left-footed player that makes runs from the wings into the area. When he gets into the middle, he makes shooting look easy. He’s good in the one-on-one and has a fine shot. He’s a footballer who I personally like a lot.”
As you might expect, given that the former Braga wonder-kid is a ‘classic left-footed player’, comparisons have already been drawn with a certain Argentine number ten.

Abel Ruiz, his former Braga teammate, described Trincao as an ‘incredible’ talent who is ‘similar to Messi’ in conversation with PortuGoal earlier this year.
Leicester’s attempts to convince Barca to cash in, just seven months after they signed him from Braga, were always destined to fail, then.
The Guardian report that the Foxes made an offer to sign Trincao on loan for two years, with an obligation to buy for £45 million.
But Barcelona’s much-maligned president Josep Maria Bartomeu has made it clear that the Iberian super-kid is not for sale at any price (BeIN Sports).
