Speaking on his podcast, Gary Neville has been waxing-lyrical about West Ham’s Declan Rice and Tomas Soucek.
Rice and Soucek have both played key roles in getting West Ham into the Europa League next season and they deserve every bit of praise that comes their way.
Neville believes that Soucek and Rice have been as good a midfield partnership as he’s ever seen.
What’s he said?
Neville has been full of praise for the West Ham pair.
“This year to play the way they have with Antonio with Fornals with Bowen and with Benrahma. All the quality players they have, they’re really good players. Lingard came in the last few months of the season. In midfield, Rice and Soucek, they’ve been as good any pair you’ll see with the way they’ve performed consistently,” Neville said.
Up there with the best

Rice and Soucek are certainly up there with the best midfield pairings we’ve seen in the league this season.
It’s no coincidence that West Ham’s form dipped when Rice was out injured towards the end of the season, and perhaps if the England international had stayed fit he could have led the Hammers into a Champions League spot.
Rice will face Soucek at the Euros this summer when England come up against the Czech Republic and it will be very interesting to see how the West Ham stars get on when they play against each other rather than alongside one another.
