Arsenal and Newcastle target Gabri Veiga has now received the seal of approval from none other than Carlo Ancelotti.
What’s the story?
Well – according to Faro de Vigo – Arsenal are keen to sign the Spaniard, and his preferred destination is actually the Emirates Stadium.
Elsewhere, it was AS in Spain who claimed that Newcastle are ready to trigger Veiga‘s £33m release clause.
Now – if he didn’t already have a fixed release clause – Ancelotti would have added a few more million to the Celta Vigo No.24’s price tag as he heaps praise on the midfield maestro.
As quoted by Fabrizio Romano, the Italian said: “I like Gabri Veiga, he’s a good player — he has quality.”

When asked if the 20-year-old was somebody he would be looking to bring to Real Madrid, Ancelotti remained coy.
The 63-year-old said: “Talks about next season’s squad? We have already talked about everything with the club.”
Interest in Veiga comes after the Spain Under-21 international scored nine goals and provided four assists in 31 appearances for Celta Vigo so far this season.
Gabri Veiga would be best off at Arsenal
In our view, Arsenal is the ideal destination for Veiga.
Not only does Mikel Arteta’s possession-based style suit Veiga better than Eddie Howe’s more robust, direct and physical approach, but the Arsenal boss will be the ideal man to coach the midfielder towards his full potential.
Arteta himself moved to the Premier League with Everton when he was just a young Spain Under-21 international himself, and developed into one of the best midfielders in England.
Therefore, the 41-year-old knows exactly what Veiga will need to do in order to make it in English football, and can use his experience of a similar situation to steer him towards success.
Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as anything could happen this summer.
