Queens Park Rangers travel to St Andrews on Saturday with youngster Bright Osayi-Samuel pushing for a re-call.
Queens Park Rangers take on Birmingham City this Saturday, with Steve McClaren’s side looking for back-to-back league wins. The Hoops edged out Wigan Athletic last week, with debutant Tomer Hemed scoring the game’s only goal.
A midweek Carabao Cup victory over Bristol Rovers followed for Rangers, with Bright Osayi-Samuel particularly impressing. The pacey winger scored the opener in the 3-1 win and was a thorn in the Rovers defence all night.
McClaren will most likely be reverting to the starting XI that beat Wigan, but Samuel must be in serious contention. The former Blackpool man has made great strides in recent months and he can prove very beneficial to QPR’s chances of winning.
Loanees Nahki Wells and Hemed are expected to spearhead the R’s attack, with Joe Lumley likely to take the gloves for McClaren’s side. Massimo Luongo and Josh Scowen should anchor the midfield with Luke Freeman and Ebere Eze expecting starts.
With that in mind, one of the pair might be sacrificed for Samuel – if McClaren opts to deploy the 20-year-old – and Eze is the likely casualty. Rangers’ no.10 has performed well so far but the QPR boss may experiment and use him from the bench on Saturday.
Grant Hall made his long-awaited return on Tuesday night and, although he performed admirably, he will likely need more minutes before being considered for the starting XI.
