Quoted by Get West London, Queens Park Rangers defender Grant Hall has revealed that he learnt a sense of leadership from Chelsea legend John Terry.
The former England international is one of the best centre-halves to have ever played in the Premier League, inspiring the Blues to four league titles.
The 35-year-old began his senior career at Chelsea way back in 1998 and as far as football goes Terry would certainly be a role model for a generation of younger English defenders.
One of those is Hall, who played against his hero during a loan spell with Swindon Town for a League Cup tie in 2013.
There, the former Tottenham Hotspur defender admits that Terry’s leadership was the most striking thing about him, describing the veteran as just a “fantastic footballer”.
“I’m a centre back so John Terry was a fantastic footballer for me. He puts his body on the line,” the Queens Park Rangers defender said via Get West London.
“When I was at Swindon John Terry came on against us so I had a chance to play against him. I learnt from his leadership. He was barking out orders to everyone on the pitch. He has that presence about him.”
Back at Loftus Road, Hall will be hoping that he can help QPR enjoy a successful season next term. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side finished 12th last time around.
