West Ham United enhanced their chances of escaping the dreaded drop to the Championship with a big win against Watford on Friday evening.

The Hammers got the better of Watford 3-1 at the London Stadium in the Premier League.

Michail Antonio put the Hammers in the lead after just six minutes, and Tomas Soucek doubled the advantage only four minutes later.

Declan Rice wrapped up the scoring with his goal in the 36th minute, as the Hammers went six points above the bottom three.

David Moyes’s side are virtually safe from relegation from the Premier League.

Former West Ham star Trevor Sinclair was following the match, and he was impressed with the display produced by Soucek, who is on loan at the Hammers from Slavia Prague at the moment.

Jordan Hugill was also following the match, and the 28-year-old forward – currently on loan at Queens Park Rangers in the Championship – was pleased with the final result and was impressed with the display produced by Rice.
