QPR succumbed to a 2-1 defeat to Sheffield United on Saturday, their second league defeat in a row

Queens Park Rangers went down to their second consecutive defeat in the Championship on Saturday, after Sheffield United secured a 2-1 win at Loftus Road. Billy Sharp and a David McGoldrick penalty made sure the points went back to South Yorkshire, after Ebere Eze had given QPR the lead.
The Blades were the better team throughout and deserved the win but R’s fans will be more than displeased after Saturday’s display. Toothless upfront and weak at the back, it already appears that manager Steve McClaren has a task on his hand to try and keep QPR afloat in the Championship this season.
On this showing, McClaren must bring in new faces asap as his comments after the United defeat don’t sit to true with some Hoops fans. Speaking to QPR’s official website, McClaren explained: “The first goal was offside and the second one I don’t see where he gets a penalty from, it’s good defending from our guys.
“We didn’t get the rewards for what was a better performance, not perfect, but better. This is a process, it’s going to take time. We are trying to give QPR an identity and this was a lot better than last week but no reward for it.”

Things don’t get any easier for QPR as they face West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns next Saturday, before back-to-back games against Bristol City and Wigan at Loftus Road.
The Sheffield United loss will frustrate R’s fans for some time and here’s the best reaction on Twitter:
