The Hoops have demanded more noise from their fans to help improve their Championship fortunes, but it hasn’t gone down brilliantly with supporters.

A consistently flat atmosphere at Loftus Road has led Championship side QPR to launch a campaign calling for greater vocal support from their fans during home matches.

The ‘Make Some Noise’ initiative was made public this morning, with Rangers looking to improve a poor run of form that has seen them go winless in the league on their own turf since the opening day.

Since that 3-0 win over Leeds in August, there has been very little to cheer for R’s fans in West London. Not many grounds would be full of chanting when going down to a 6-0 defeat, as QPR did to Newcastle a month ago, but this new appeal is hoping to galvanise supporters.

Speaking to the club website, QPR CEO Les Hoos said: “The general feeling amongst the supporters I consulted with was that it’s lost its way a bit in recent years for one reason or another.

“We’re encouraging the Rangers supporters to make as much noise as they possibly can throughout the 90-plus minutes on a matchday, because it really does make a difference,” he added.

QPR are yet to sell out their 18,000-capacity home this season, but are aiming to capitalise on the feelgood factor built up by their 2-1 derby win over Fulham at Craven Cottage prior to the international break.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink’s side welcome Reading this weekend before hosting Bristol City on Tuesday evening. QPR currently sit 13th in the Championship table, five points off the play-off places.

Hoops fans have taken to social media to give their reaction on the new campaign, with most not exactly in favour of the idea.

As ever, the atmosphere will increase in line with the excitement on the pitch. If QPR can sort out their home form, the crowd noise will most likely improve without any need for a campaign.
