Queens Park Rangers are reportedly keen on Rui Almeida.

Queens Park Rangers are still searching for their new manager, a week on from sacking Steve McClaren after a torrid run of form in 2019.
The R’s won just one in 14 since the turn of the year under McClaren, taking only six points from a possible 42 in that run, and defeat to Bolton Wanderers proved to be McClaren’s last game in charge.
John Eustace took charge of Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Norwich City, and QPR will now be hoping to make an appointment before the end of the season despite not yet being safe for next season.
A host of names have been linked with the job, and one fascinating link has emerged over the weekend, with Record in Portugal claiming that contact has been made about landing Troyes boss Rui Almeida.
Almeida, 49, is a relative unknown, but currently has Troyes challenging for promotion in France’s second tier, after seven games without defeat.
The Portuguese boss, who started out in charge of Syria’s Under-23’s, has since managed Red Star, Bastia and now Troyes, carving out a career for himself in France.

Whilst many may be baffled by the links, QPR fans are seemingly delighted, as they want to see a left-field appointment rather than another retread like Steve McClaren and Ian Holloway before him.
Some are delighted to see QPR considering an ‘outside of the box’ appointment, feeling that a fresh approach from Almeida is just what the club needs, feeling he can become their version of Norwich City’s Daniel Farke.
