The QPR legend has been linked with a return to the Championship club but the vice-chairman’s snub has left some fans upset.

Queens Park Rangers fans who were looking forward to the prospect of Adel Taarabt returning to Loftus Road have been let down by club vice-chairman Tony Fernandes.
The 29-year-old midfielder made 164 appearances for QPR between 2009 and 2015, scoring 34 goals and registering 42 assists, according to Transfermarkt.
In addition, Taarabt helped the R’s win the Championship title at the end of the 2010-11 campaign, so he remains very much appreciated by some of the club’s fans.
The Morocco international also had several loan stints while on QPR’s books and famously had a fallout with then manager Harry Redknapp.
The veteran coach accused the player of being overweight and criticised his attitude in October 2014, as reported by numerous media outlets including BBC Sport.
Taarabt has been at Benfica since joining from QPR in 2015 but has yet to make an appearance for the first team and spent last season on loan with Genoa.

The Sun linked Taarabt with a return to the Championship club on Wednesday but Fernandes took to Twitter to address the rumours:
