The Queens Park Rangers defender underwent surgery on Tuesday after tearing a tendon at Leeds United last weekend.
Queens Park Rangers supporters have turned to Twitter to wish defender Angel Rangel a speedy recovery, after he provided an update regarding his recent injury.
Rangel suffered a torn tendon in his upper thigh in the 2-1 defeat at Leeds United last weekend, which is set to keep him sidelined for at least eight weeks.
Rangel limped off towards the end of the Elland Road loss and QPR fans have been quick to wish him well. They will be hoping to see him don the famous blue and white jersey again very soon.
The former Swansea City right-back has been imperious for Rangers since signing a short-term deal in the summer.
That deal has now been extended until the end of the season, after a series of fine displays that have helped the R’s climb the table after a slow start.
Admittedly, QPR boss Steve McClaren only signed Rangel as cover for Darnell Furlong but the Spaniard cemented himself in the starting XI.
Now, Furlong has a chance to stake a claim as the No.1 right-back again and he was impressive in the 2-1 victory over Middlesbrough on Saturday.
Furlong will know he has his work cut out over the festive period and it will be intriguing to see who McClaren opts for when Rangel is back.
For now, it is imperative that Rangel recovers as quickly as possible and Rangers fans have been quick to offer their support after the successful surgery.
