Pre-season is back for QPR and back the R’s have come – with a bang.
The west London side were only up against Verona Stars but they still impressed to come away with a 10-0 win during their first friendly of pre-season.
A number of QPR players, including new signings, caught the attention of fans as the R’s reached double figures on Saturday afternoon.
And not least was Samba Diakite, a somewhat forgotten 26-year-old who notched twice against the Verona Stars to kick things off for QPR. The midfielder wasn’t really given a look in under previous boss Harry Redknapp and has spent two loan spells away from Loftus Road in recent times.
Here he was back in a QPR shirt, however, with fans cheering Diakite on as he opened the west London side’s pre-season campaign in style.
In response on Twitter, many supporters were calling for the midfield man to be given a proper chance for the R’s, suggesting he could boss the midfield in the Championship next season.
