QPR fans were not particularly impressed with Joey Barton’s display against Swansea.
QPR’s recent run of good form came grinding to a halt with a 2-0 loss away to Swansea City.
The defeat leaves Harry Redknapp’s side in 19th position with 11 points from 14 games.
During the match midfielder Joey Barton picked up his first booking of the season, and was substituted late on for Junior Hoilett as QPR chased the game.
Barton’s display caused plenty of debate on his favourite medium of Twitter, with QPR fans criticising him for giving the ball away too easily.
| Passing Accuracy | Possession Lost | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Karl Henry | 87% | 5 | 90 |
| Niko Kranjcar | 74% | 17 | 90 |
| Joey Barton | 72% | 14 | 80 |
| Leroy Fer | 69% | 17 | 90 |
Barton completed only 72 per cent of his passes, giving the ball away 14 times, but he was not the worst offender, with Niko Kranjcar and Leroy Fer also responsible for doing so 17 times each.
The problem for Barton is there has been a marked difference in his displays before njury, and since his return.
| Match | Passing Accuracy | Possession Lost | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Joey Barton | QPR vs Sunderland | 87% | 10 | 90 |
| Joey Barton | Tottenham vs QPR | 84% | 15 | 90 |
| Joey Barton | QPR vs Hull City | 81% | 21 | 90 |

| Joey Barton | QPR vs Leicester | 70% | 19 | 90 |
| Joey Barton | Newcastle vs QPR | 69% | 22 | 90 |
The games in which he has posted the lowest pass completion percentages of his season have all come in the last three games, with 72 per cent last night his highest total across these games.
When he gives the ball away 65 times across the last three matches, it’s easy to see why fans have been getting frustrated with him.
