Queens Park Rangers have continued to revamp their strike force after completing the season-long loan of Nahki Wells from Burnley.

The 28-year-old has hardly featured for The Clarets since he made the switch to Turf Moor last summer and QPR fans are eager to see their new man in action.

Steve McClaren’s side have only scored twice in their opening four Championship fixtures and although their defensive frailties are obvious – shipping 13 already this season – the introduction of Wells should see the R’s start to climb the table.

The Bermuda international has notched 87 goals during his tenure in the Football League and McClaren will be quietly confident he can start extending that tally, beginning on Saturday.

The Hoops host Wigan Athletic in what really is a must-win game for McClaren with serious pressure already mounting on the 57-year-old.
