Ali Omar is on trial at QPR and the defender made his second appearance on Tuesday afternoon
Queens Park Rangers have taken another look at Ali Omar after the trialist made his second appearance for the R’s on Tuesday, as reported by West London Sport.
The defender played the second-half as QPR ran out 3-2 winners after the Stevenage FC defender featured earlier in pre-season, when Steve McClaren’s side thrashed Staines Town.
Omar took the place of Grant Hall during Harlington’s behind-closed-doors friendly against Swindon Town and will be optimistic of signing for the Championship club. The 18-year-old played well and the R’s could consider him for the U23 side.
Omar is yet to feature for Stevenage but has made his mark in the U18 side and has impressed during the FA Youth Cup, so much so that Premier League side Bournemouth were interested.
HITC Sport reported back in January that the Cherries were keen to secure the services of Omar, although a deal never materialised. That in itself can work into QPR’s favour as they continue to look to add young hopefuls to their ranks.
If Omar were to join, he would join Joe Felix and Ben Wells at Loftus Road who signed earlier for the U23s earlier this summer from Fulham and West Ham United. The pair are tipped to have bright futures and Omar would be a welcome addition to Paul Hall’s side.

QPR are drawing up a reputation of late for producing players through their academy, with a number of them going on to play for the first-team. Omar would be well placed in W12 and Rangers should do all they can to manufacture a deal.
