Queens Park Rangers host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship on Thursday night.
Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, QPR boss Ian Holloway explained how he is not surprised by Wolves’ current plight, ahead of their clash against Paul Lambert’s men on Thursday night, as quoted by the club’s official website.
Holloway was handed the reigns at Loftus Road earlier this month, and has led his side to a win and a defeat in his opening two games in charge.
And speaking to the press ahead of Thursday night’s game, Holloway touched on his side’s opponents, citing the sacking of Mick McCarthy in February 2012 as a major contributing factor to their demise, as quoted by QPR.co.uk:
Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway
“I’m not surprised by anything. Mick McCarthy had them in the top flight. They got rid of him, gave it to his assistant and they went down two divisions. Leicester won the Premier League – anything can happen. It’s a fantastic competition. The coaches are better and the Championship is thriving. It’s a fantastic watch week in week out.”

The Molineux outfit have been on an awful run of form of late, and are without a win since September 24th.
They currently sit just one place outside the relegation zone, ahead of 22nd placed Wigan Athletic because of a superior goal difference.
Lambert’s arrival has failed to provide Wolves with the boost usually seen when a new manager arrives at a club, and he will be desperate for all three points against QPR on Thursday night.
