Queens Park Rangers host West Bromwich Albion tomorrow in the Championship – both sides in the playoff places.
Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Warburton has given his verdict on upcoming opponents West Bromwich Albion ahead of their Championship clash in Saturday’s early kickoff (official QPR website)
The Baggies go to Loftus Road on the back of a 4-2 win over Huddersfield Town on Sunday, The Hawthorns side’s unbeaten record still intact, and sit fourth in the table on 16 points from eight games.
QPR are in good form themselves, sitting just a place below West Brom in fifth, also on 16 points, following Warburton’s impressive start at the West London club which included four consecutive league wins.
“We are expecting a very tough challenge,” Warburton told the QPR website ahead of the clash between the two Championship high-flyers. “They have a squad full of quality.
“We know what we face and are full of respect for what we face, but we’re not fearful. We are very respectful and we have trained well and analysed well. There is no doubt it will be a formidable challenge but we are on a good run of form and we go into this game full of confidence and keen to deliver a performance in front of our fans.”
As well as being the only remaining team in the division not to have lost a league game this season, Albion are the Championship’s highest scorers, netting 15 times in eight fixtures, and they put 10 goals past the R’s last season (7-1 and 3-2 wins).
Meanwhile, Rangers’ four victories in a row is their longest winning run in the league since January 2014 under Harry Redknapp, and striker Nahki Wells will net his 100th career league goal if he can find a way past Sam Johnstone this weekend (West Brom website).
