Queens Park Rangers manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink believes that Sheffield Wednesday are a very good side and their main strength is their wide play and movement, qpr.co.uk report.

The Hoops head in to the encounter as underdogs as they currently sit in ninth position in the Championship table, two points behind Wendesday who occupy the final play-off position.

The Owls were rightfully considered one of the favourites for promotion this season after reaching the play-off final last term, and they now seem to be hitting their stride after a stop-start beginning to the campaign.

QPR are currently five games unbeaten, yet Hasselbaink recognises the strength of his side’s upcoming opponents and believes that Wednesday are at their best when they get the ball in wide areas.

Sheffield Wednesday manager Carlos Carvalhal before the match

“They are a very good side. They like to overload in the wide areas and get a lot of runners into the box. They are not afraid to get the ball down and play, and in doing so create the space that they want,” the Dutchman told qpr.co.uk.

“We must respect them. But we can respect them by attacking them. That is how you show them respect – by attacking them and trying to take the game to them. We must look to work on their weaknesses.”

Sheffield Wednesday's Fernando Forestieri looks dejected after a missed chance

Despite the attacking talents such as Fernando Forestieri, Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher at their disposal, Wednesday have only netted 15 times in 13 games with just three in their first five matches.

They have now though managed to now find the net at least once in their last nine matches, and QPR will have to be defensively switched on throughout to prevent the hosts making it 10 on the bounce.

Each team is in good form and it should be an entertaining Championship encounter, with both sides looking to get the ball down and play.
