Queens Park Rangers are reportedly lining up a January loan move for Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas.
QPR’s performance levels may have bucked the trend and impressed considerably lately – but that is still doing their points tally no favours whatsoever.
Harry Redknapp’s side are bottom of the Premier League and goals are still being conceded regularly – even if not as frequently as before.
So what’s the answer for west London side?
According to the London Evening Standard, it could involve another west London side – Chelsea.
Indeed, QPR are said to be lining up a loan move for Chelsea defender Tomas Kalas in January.
The R’s will face heavy competition for the 21-year-old’s signature but Redknapp reportedly sees the centre-back as his man.
Experience would certainly not be one of Kalas’s strong points but perhaps, if the report proves true, Rangers are now looking at a shift in their recruitment policy?
The experience of Rio Ferdinand does not appear to have proven of much value so far at Loftus Road, while fellow centre-back Richard Dunne is also 35. Steven Caulker, 22, looks to offer a lot more in the long term and Chelsea’s Kalas could provide a similar youthful outlook – even if he is only a temporary signing.
