Leeds United are going strong in the Championship at the moment.

Leeds United are one of the biggest clubs of England and are doing extremely well this season. Leeds are on course to finishing in the top six of the Championship and could get promoted to the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign.
The West Yorkshire outfit have not featured in the top flight of English football since 2004 and had become also-rans in the Championship over the past few years. Under head coach Garry Monk, who was appointed in the role in the summer of 2016, the Whites are playing with confidence, and there is harmony in the dressing room.
Leeds fans are enjoying the club’s current situation. There is hope and optimism around Elland Road, and the supporters will certainly expect the team to end up in the playoffs.
However, the Leeds fans may not like what Eunan O’Kane has to say about the team’s promotion chances.
Although the 26-year-old midfielder hopes that the team return to the Premier League, he has suggested that this season’s success has to be put into perspective, pointing at the club’s struggles for over a decade.
“I appreciate that Leeds are a huge club but, correct me if I am wrong, there were 12 players signed in the summer,” O’Kane told The Yorkshire Post. “There is (also) a manager who has only been here for seven or eight months and success does not happen overnight.
“There would be disappointment (if Leeds do not go up). Personally I would be very disappointed and I am sure the fans and anyone who has any association to the club would.
“But again, when you put things into perspective about where we have come from, it would be a hell of an improvement.”
While O’Kane does make a good point, one suspects that Leeds fans will be hugely disappointed if the team fail to get promoted to the Premier League.
The Championship is a very competitive and rigorous domestic league, and the Whites could struggle next season. Leeds have to seize the moment and do their best to get out of the Championship this term.
