Simon Johnson has criticised Leeds United forward Georginio Rutter on Twitter for his performance against Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United at Elland Road in the Premier League today.

Leeds have suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Manchester United at home this afternoon.

Marcus Rashford broke the deadlock for the West Yorkshire club in the 80th minute.

Luke Shaw provided the assist for his England international teammate.

Then on 85 minutes, Alejandro Garnacho found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Rutter did not start the match for Leeds against the Red Devils today.

The 20-year-old forward came on as a substitute in the 58th minute for English striker Patrick Bamford.

Former Leeds player Johnson was following the match, and the pundit was not impressed by Rutter.

Johnson said that he wanted the £35.5 million (Sky Sports) signing from Hoffenheim in the January transfer window to do more, such as put in tackles, close down an opposition or shoot on goal.

Rutter did try his best to be that strong target-man, but he could not really make a big impact for Leeds.

But, we should not forget that the French forward is only 20.
