Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Mohamed Elneny has been pushing everybody in training to do well.
Arteta made the comments after Arsenal’s win against FC Zurich at the Emirates Stadium in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Egypt international defensive midfielder Elneny played in the match.
And Arteta was impressed, highlighting how good the 30-year-old fringe player has been in training at London Colney.
Mikel Arteta on Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny
Arteta said about Elneny after the match on Thursday: “He was really good.
“He’s been out for eight weeks, we expected him to be out for 12 weeks, he had an amazing recovery, he’s a guy that has been pushing everybody around the training ground to be ready as quick as possible and today I think he competed really well.”

Important player for the Gunners
In our opinion, Mohamed Elneny is an important figure at Arsenal despite being a fringe player.
We have seen Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta make use of the 30-year-old from time to time.
Now, of course, when all the midfielders are fit and available, Elneny is not going to start for Arsenal.
However, the 30-year-old is hugely experienced, and we have seen him turn on the style when he does feature for the North London club.
Elneny has made one appearance in the Premier League and has played once in the UEFA Europa League for Arsenal so far this season.
