Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are determined to sign Joao Pedro from Watford in the summer transfer window.

The well-known and well-respected journalist has claimed that Newcastle have had a second bid for Watford forward Pedro turned down.

However, according to Romano, talks between Newcastle and Watford over the 20-year-old Brazilian forward are still going on, and that the Magpies are determined to sign him in the summer transfer window.

Could a transfer happen?

In our view, Newcastle United could be able to Joao Pedro from Watford in the summer transfer window.

It is clear that the Magpies are keen on the Brazilian.

After all, Newcastle have made two bids already for the 20-year-old former Fluminense player.

We think that it is only a matter of time before Newcastle make a third bid, especially as they are still in talks.

Newcastle are a big and established club in the Premier League who have grand plans for the future, and Pedro himself could be tempted to a move to St. James’ Park.

Joao has scored one goal in four Championship appearances for the Hornets so far this season.

The forward scored three goals and gave one assist in 15 Premier League starts last season, and scored nine goals and provided two assists in 31 Championship starts in 2020-21.
