The Daily Record has suggested that Aston Villa chief executive Christian Purslow is not particularly keen on hiring John Terry as the club’s new manager.

Villa are on the hunt for a new manager following the sacking of Dean Smith.
The Daily Record have reported that former Chelsea and Villa central defender Terry is among the managers who are potential candidates to replace Smith.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard and Brighton and Hove Albion boss Graham Potter are also on the list.
Villa chief executive Purslow is reportedly leading the search for a permanent successor to Smith.
And, according to the report, the former Liverpool official ‘would prefer an experienced manager’ to Terry.
The former Chelsea defender has been described as ‘high profile candidate’ in the report.
John Terry to Aston Villa is unlikely
In our view, it is very unlikely that Terry will get the Villa managerial job.
Yes, the 40-year-old played for the Villans and worked as an assistant to Smith.
But Terry lacks experience, and Villa are unlikely to take a risk.
Now, of course, we are seeing what Steven Gerrard is doing at Rangers.
This is Gerrard’s first full-time senior management role, and he won the Scottish Premiership title last season with Rangers.
But the former England international midfielder was the Liverpool Under-18 manager before he took the job at Rangers.
