Some Tottenham Hotspur fans on social media have been raving about the performance of Tanguy Ndombele against Wycombe Wanderers.
It doesn’t take a footballing genius to understand why Spurs fans singled out Ndombele for praise after this game, after all, he pretty much turned the game on its head in a matter of minutes.
Wycombe posed a much tougher test that Spurs probably ever imagined they would, but when Ndombele turned on the style with five minutes to go, the game completely changed.
Ndombele played a part in all three of Spurs, late goals, playing the initial cross for Harry Kane that displaced the Wycombe defence before Harry Wink’s effort, and of course, finding the back of the net twice himself.
If someone hadn’t watched the game, you’d say that the Frenchman was a Man of the Match contender just by virtue of his two goals, but it was the manner in which he made things happen which was most impressive.
Perhaps the most telling thing about his performance was that some fans were comparing him to the likes of Dimitar Berbatov and Luka Modric after the game, and praise doesn’t come much higher than that in football.
Here’s what Spurs supporters have been saying about Ndombele.
