Roy Keane has labelled Liverpool transfer target duo, Gavi and Pedri, as ‘pure quality’, as he told ITV Sport.

The Barcelona duo started Spain’s recent 2-1 win over Albania in a friendly, as Keane thinks Luis Enrique’s side will be ‘right in the mix’ at Qatar 2022.

Whilst both Pedri and Gavi are shining bright on the highly-pressured Barcelona stage that is trying to pick itself up from the canvas.

It seems as though Liverpool are trying to lure either midfielder to Merseyside, according to the Mirror and Spanish journalist, Gerard Romero.

Nonetheless, when Keane was asked about Spain’s midfield of Gavi and Perdri, heading into the World Cup in Qatar, this is what he had to say.

“That’s not bad,” smiled Keane. “They’ll be in the mix at the World Cup.

“Pure quality, the midfielders, where it’s such an important part of the pitch. Fantastic quality.”

It wasn’t so long ago that Barca were in a right state, financial mess, Lionel Messi out of the door and questioning where they are heading.

But, ever since Xavi returned to Catalonia, things are starting to look a lot positive for the La Liga giants, even though there is still a long way to go, with Gavi and Pedri running the show from the middle of the park.

The likes of Liverpool may well lurk in the background hoping to see if they can lure the talented midfield duo to the Premier League.

But, it just seems fitting, both Gavi and Pedri, are the ones to take the centre stage at the Nou Camp, like Andres Iniesta and Xavi himself did for many, many years.
