The Scottish season is barely a few weeks old but Clydebank think the Goal of the Season has already been scored after Nicky Little’s outrageous volley from halfway left fans across the country purring.

The Bankies scored the stunner in a 2-1 win over Cumnock last night in the West of Scotland Premier Division and you’ll do well to see a better goal any time soon.

Little, who is already a modern-day Clydebank legend, added to his incredible goal tally for the former top-flight side 14 minutes in when he rifled in from almost halfway to make it 1-0.

Less than ten minutes later he grabbed his, and Clydebank’s second goal of the night but it was his opener that had everyone talking on social media.

The 29-year-old has also had spells with Pollok, Largs Thistle, Shamrock Rovers in Australia and American side Oakland City Athletics and is in his second spell with the Bankies.

After Cumnock keeper Keiran Hughes was headed back forward by a Clydebank stopper, Little took a touch before firing an unstoppable effort over the head over Hughes and into the back of the net.

Fans on Twitter were blown away by the strike with fans of Rangers, Celtic and clubs across Scotland hailing the finish – with the Bankies themselves calling it ‘Goal of the Season for 21/22’.

And the commentary isn’t too bad either.
