It was a pretty dreadful day all round for Arsenal at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Not only did the Gunners lose 2-0 to find themselves 15th in the Premier League, but this was also their North London rivals – and in front of 2,000 Spurs fans, to make matters worse.

In addition to that, Arsenal might be without Thomas Partey yet again.

Mikel Arteta named the £45 million midfielder in his starting XI for the first time in a month due to injury, but Partey lasted less than half the game before breaking down again.

The former Atletico Madrid was spotted trudging off the field as Tottenham broke and scored their second through Harry Kane – now this fixture’s all-time record goalscorer – just before the break.

Arteta was filmed physically pushing Partey – standing on the touchline – back on to the field just before Kane scored and here’s how some Spurs fans reacted to the footage:

There’s such an element of slapstick to the incident that will leave nobody surprised because Arsenal, right now, are a slapstick team.

They undeniably have the personnel to be much higher than 15th, but for whatever reason they aren’t playing for Arteta at the moment and Tottenham – who sit top of the Premier League – must be loving it.
