Some Leeds United fans have been reacting to an image of Jan Bednarek holding onto Pascal Struijk’s arm from a set-piece on Tuesday night.

One eagle-eyed onlooker noticed the strange way Bednarek was handling Struijk from the set-piece and posted the image on social media, and as you can imagine, Leeds fans had plenty to say about this.

A bit of roughhousing from set plays is nothing new in football, and it’s been going for years, but this was a tactic employed that we’ve rarely seen.

Indeed, Bednarek managed to impede Struijk in a very creative and inconspicuous way by trapping his arm, and upon first glance it’s hard to really notice what he’s doing.

This allowed Jannik Vestergaard to get free and get a header away on goal, but fortunately for Leeds, the chance didn’t find the back of the net.

We have to wonder whether or not VAR would have picked up on this impediment if Vestergaard had scored his header, because although this was a foul, it was very sneaky.

Leeds fans weren’t best pleased to see Bednarek employing this tactic against them, and they took to social media to make their feelings known…
