This is tough as Wolves are one of the most unpredictable teams in the league, but one result which is easy to predict right now is a Birmingham City defeat. They have been terrible under Gianfranco Zola and expect that trend to continue.

Momentum has stalled at Molineux after four defeats on the trot but Wolves could hardly be welcoming more accommodating opponents on Friday. Birmingham, more specifically Zola, cannot afford another repeat of that QPR horror show but there’s little to suggest the Blues will turn things around quickly.

Whilst Wolves put in a good showing against Chelsea in the FA Cup, defeat was ultimately their fourth in a row, a worrying run for a team just 5 points above the relegation zone. Luckily for them, Birmingham have been woeful under Gianfranco Zola, so I’m going for a home win.

If Wolves play like they did against Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup, there should be plenty to cheer for the home fans. Wolves may be struggling at the wrong end of the table but they can get over that slump and start climbing in the weeks ahead.

Birmingham have been nothing short of woeful under Zola, and I’m adamant Wolves have performed far below their station this season. With FA Cup distractions now behind them, I fancy Lambert’s side to inflict further misery on the Blues’ Italian boss.
