Rangers look set to sign midfielder Ryan Jack on a free transfer.
Ryan Jack celebrates after scoring for Aberdeen
Pundit Willie Miller has told the Daily Record that he thinks Aberdeen ace Ryan Jack shouldn’t jump into joining Rangers – though his move to Ibrox appears to be drawing ever closer.
Jack, 25, has been something of a hometown hero at Pittodrie, having been born in Aberdeen before coming up through the ranks with the Dons, eventually becoming a first-team regular.
Club captain since 2015, Jack has racked up nearly 250 appearances for Aberdeen, but he looks set to leave the club in the coming weeks in order to join rivals Rangers.
Jack’s contract with Aberdeen expires this summer, meaning he can move on for free – and the Sunday Post claim that Jack will join Rangers pending a medical.
It’s quite the coup for Gers boss Pedro Caixinha, adding a key figure to his midfield whilst also weakening a direct rival, with some surprised that Jack is making the move to Ibrox.

Aberdeen not only beat Rangers 2-1 last weekend, but finished nine points clear of the Gers, claiming second place behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table.
Now, pundit and Aberdeen hero Willie Miller has told the Daily Record that he thinks Jack shouldn’t be jumping into joining Rangers, and should re-think his decision as Aberdeen have a better chance of joining trophies.

Miller drew on his own experiences to give advice to the Aberdeen midfielder, even suggesting that he would rather see Jack move to England than join Rangers this summer.
”It’s a shame he is going but you have to respect his right to do that. But Ryan shouldn’t jump in,” said Miller. “I had the chance to join Rangers in 1983 and would have got far more money but I stayed with the Dons as I felt they offered me the best chance of winning trophies. On the evidence of recent seasons you would have to say the same applies today.”
“I have no doubt that Aberdeen will continue to challenge for honours under Derek McInnes but could Ryan be sure of doing that if he goes to Ibrox? He should also be careful to pick the right club if goes south as I had the chance to go to Sunderland as well. Again I felt they were a club going nowhere and they were relegated at the end of that season. But I would still rather Ryan ended up in England than at Rangers,” he added.
