Kris Boyd has written in The Scottish Sun that Rangers full-back Nathan Patterson could leave Ibrox amid reported interest from Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa.
The former Rangers striker has been impressed by Patterson, and believes that the Ibrox right-back is a gem.
The Sky Sports pundit has warned Rangers that there will be serious interest in the Scotland international from clubs in England.

Interestingly, according to 90min, Villa are interested in signing Patterson from Rangers
Gerrard has reportedly told his Villa bosses to get a deal for Patterson done in the January transfer window.
The former Liverpool midfielder left his managerial role at Rangers to take over at Villa.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun about Patterson: “There’s no doubt that Rangers have a fight on their hands to keep Patterson.
“There will be some serious interest from England. He’s been terrific for his club and he’s now doing it for his country.
“Patterson had that Covid issue earlier this year when he got into some trouble off the pitch. But since then, he has really grown in stature and matured. It’s incredible to think he’s still only 20.”
Rangers need to keep Nathan Patterson
Patterson has been superb for Rangers whenever he has played.
The 20-year-old is also doing well for Scotland at the moment.
It does not come as a surprise to us that Villa are interested in Patterson.
And we think that Rangers should keep hold of Patterson.
Yes, James Tavernier remains a brilliant footballer and is one of the best right-backs in the Scottish Premiership.
But Patterson is very gifted and is only 20.
