Should Liverpool give Danny Ward a chance in goal?

Liverpool's German goalkeeper Loris Karius (C) comes out to cut out a cross away from Manchester City's Argentinian striker Sergio Aguero (R) during the English Premier League football...

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp gave goalkeeper Loris Karius a start against Manchester City and almost instantly regretted it.

Karius was beaten at his near post by Leroy Sane in the first half and went onto concede two more goals as Liverpool won a thriller 4-3.

Karius was selected ahead of unconvincing stopper Simon Mignolet, and it is becoming clear that neither goalkeeper should be the long term answer for the Reds.

If only they had another goalkeeper available…

Step forward Danny Ward?

Liverpool goalkeeper Danny Ward looks on during the Barclays Premier League match between Swansea City and Liverpool at The Liberty Stadium on May 1, 2016 in Swansea, Wales.

The Wales international has had a frustrating season this year after leading Huddersfield to promotion in 2016/17 during a successful loan spell.

Ward, 24, has made no Premier League appearances this season and played just once in the Carabao Cup.

Most weekends he is not even on the bench, a hugely frustrating experience for a goalkeeper who is deserving of better.

Danny Ward of Huddersfield Town celebrates promotion to the Premier League after the Sky Bet Championship play off final between Huddersfield and Reading at Wembley Stadium on May 29, 2017...

At this stage Ward is deserving of a shot to show what he can do, with frustration wearing thin with both Karius and Mignolet.

Pundit Danny Gabbidon commented on Twitter that Ward should be given an opportunity.

Liverpool could put Ward in and he could be as unstable and unconvincing than the two goalkeepers in front of him, but without trying, the Reds will never know.

If they are not going to give him game time, then the fairest route to take is to grant Ward a quick exit from Anfield to a team who will.
