Clinton Morrison has told EFL On Quest that reported Arsenal, West Ham United and Leicester City target Ivan Toney will be playing Premier League football next season – with or without Brentford (27 February, 9pm).
Before 2020/21 comes to an end, Toney’s name will be taking pride of place in the history books.
The striker has scored 25 goals in 32 games since joining Brentford from Peterborough United last summer – meaning he’s just five short of Glenn Murray’s all-time Championship record with a decent chunk of the season remaining.
Toney’s latest strike, the winner in Saturday’s 2-1 victory over Stoke City, means Thomas Frank’s side is sitting pretty in the automatic promotion positions.
But, according to Morrison, Toney will be banging in the goals in the top flight next season – for whom, however, is another matter entirely.
“(Toney is) the main man. This guy will be in the Premiership next season, whether it’s with Brentford or not. He’s a terrific player, their talisman and that is a proper striker’s goal (against Stoke),” former Crystal Palace and Birmingham ace Morrison explains.

“I think he could get around 37 (goals). He’s in terrific form.”
The Sun (21 February, page 62) claims Brentford want £25 million for Toney, whose emphatic finishing has caught the eye of Arsenal, West Ham and a Newcastle side keen to re-sign a player they sold three years ago.
The Mirror, meanwhile, believes the late-blooming frontman could be tasked with filling Jamie Vardy’s boots at Leicester.
