Perry Groves has said on talkSPORT that Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette would have been frustrated not to play against Leeds United at the weekend.
Arsenal got the better of Leeds 4-2 at the Emirates Stadium in North London in the Premier League on Sunday.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started the match and scored a hat-trick, as the Gunners maintained their chances of finishing in the top four.
Lacazette was an unused substitute, and former Arsenal star Groves – who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT – believes that the Frenchman would not have been too happy not to get involved in the game.
Former Arsenal and Manchester United striker Andy Cole believes that manager Mikel Arteta does not rate Lacazette highly.
Groves said on talkSPORT: “As an Arsenal fan, I wouldn’t want him to go. When he’s playing, if it’s not going right, he gets the hook after an hour or 70 minutes.
“He’s played seven games on the spin, Arsenal haven’t been great and then you’re playing against Leeds where you know they concede goals for fun and you get left out. He’ll be looking at that thinking, ‘Do me a favour, this is the game I should be playing in’.”
Cole said on talkSPORT: “Look at Lacazette and I’m disappointed for him because I don’t think Arteta believes in him.
“He’s looking at Aubameyang coming back in after two games on the bench, gets himself a hat-trick… he’ll be saying to himself, ‘that could have been me’.”

Frustration for Alexandre Lacazette?
Lacazette has been playing well for Arsenal in recent weeks and has been among the goals.
It would have been disappointing for the 29-year-old not to get involved in the match against Leeds.
The France international striker could have scored a goal or two and added to his tally.
According to WhoScored, Lacazette has made 16 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season, scoring eight goals and providing two assists in the process.
