Don Hutchison has said on Premier League Productions that Arsenal should fine Hector Bellerin for his foul throw against Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby.

The former Liverpool midfielder, who now works as a pundit, was not impressed by Bellerin failing to take throw-ins properly during Arsenal’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday evening.

As reported by The Sun, the Spanish right-back has taken as many as five foul throw-ins so far this season – more than the number of goals Arsenal have scored since the start of October.

Hutchison said on Premier League Productions: “I have told you, and I say this tongue-in-cheek, I have told you, but I mean it – tongue-in-cheek, but I mean it, that’s a contradiction – I would fine him. I would fine him a week’s wages.”

Need to improve

Bellerin is a very good right-back and is an important player for Arsenal, but it is clear that the 25-year-old needs to work on his throw-ins.

While fining Bellerin a week’s wages would be harsh, perhaps manager Mikel Arteta should make sure that the 25-year-old Spain international right-back practises taking throw-ins more and on a regular basis in training.

The entire Arsenal team need to step up, as the Gunners are in danger of falling behind in the race for the Champions League places in the Premier League table this season.
