Kevin Campbell has encouraged Arsenal to make a move for Yves Bissouma.
TalkSPORT claimed earlier in December that the Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder has admirers in the form of the Gunners and Premier League champions Liverpool.
Bissouma, a £15 million signing from Lille in 2018, impressed against Arsenal at The Amex last night as Mikel Arteta’s side secured a hard-fought 1-0 victory – and fans of the London club were raving about him afterwards.
The North Londoners spent big on Thomas Partey for £45 million this past summer.
But the likes of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have been found wanting with regards to partnering the Ghana powerhouse this season.
And former Arsenal hitman Campbell believes that the 24-year-old Ivorian would represent a perfect midfield partner for the former Atletico Madrid star.
He said via The Worthing Herald: “I really like him [Bissouma] and there is talk of clubs coming in for him and Arsenal are one of them. Arsenal could do with a player like him. Thomas Party needs a partner in the midfield with energy and he would fit the bill perfectly.”
Although he’s a powerful player, Partey is no mug in regards to footballing ability.
And with Bissouma preferring a defensive role, that might, in theory, allow the Ghanaian tank freedom to go a bit more forward.
That being said, Partey hasn’t played for Arsenal since their defeat by Spurs earlier this month, and hasn’t played that much overall following his move from Atletico due to injury.
But he’s finally fit again, having been spotted in training this week, and the Gunners won’t be thinking about adding another midfielder until he’s fit and ready to go.
